OMG!! BEST FILET MIGNON AROUND
by glowee at Citysearch
We were going to Hollywood from OC to see a play and needed to find some place to eat. My husband has seen Steven's Steakhouse hundreds of times from working in the area, heard it was good so we decided to give it a try. It was a Saturday night around 5:30 and we were seated right away. Fresh bread and butter was brought to our table right away and our order was taken. Salads were soon to follow. The complimentary pasta was a nice tasty change from the usual baked potato. Our meal followed soon after. The filet mignons were absolutly to DIE for! Every where we dine, I always order the filet mignon and hands down Steven's has the absolute best ever. We walked out of Steven's knowing this was our new favorite place to eat! Excellent food at a reasonable price. I heard they had dancing, lessons, dj's and other functions, but it was pretty quiet on the homefront when we were there. Last but not least, our host and waitress were very friendly. Like their website says, you can't blame them if you become a regular!
A little too much going on here for a relaxing dinner.

Went here early on a Friday night for dinner. The dining area was fairly empty so we were seated promptly. Immediately I was distracted by what seemed to be some kind of sound check going on in their banquet area, which sounded loud in the dining area. Also, in the bar area they had some kind of karaoke going on. So from the start there were two different conflicting sources of noise competing with each other. Ordered some beers which we were charged full price for. Happy Hour not in the dining area maybe? Ordered the big prime rib which was good, although I wasn't impressed by their complimentary pasta which comes with the entrees. Have to order sides serparate, and the rice wasn't that impressive. Service was good and the food was alright, but the music from different sources was annoying. I guess they have a lot of things going on in one spot here, a dance club later and karaoke and the ball game was on the tv and a banquet room for whatever was going on in there. I might check it out again but maybe for another reason than dinner.
- Pros: Decent Prime Rib. Good service.
- Cons: Somewhat distracting dining atmosphere, even when the place was fairly empty.
Good value

It's not the best steak, but it's not bad either. It is, however, a very inexpensive meal for steak and bbq. The restaurant has a great atmosphere as well. Eating here is fun.
- Pros: Great Value
- Cons: Can be crowded
Upscale steakhouse by day, booming salsa powerhouse by night.

In Short
Family-owned since 1954, this elegant restaurant and bar is divided into seven smaller sections along with two dance floors for Latin-style dancing. Depending on the night, the space hosts DJs and live salsa music for crowds ranging from 20-somethings to families. Family-sized entrees include the "Big Jim" prime rib, complete with soup or salad, vegetables and pasta. Besides daily fish specials and spicy Mexican favorites, there are also combination plates for those with surf and turf cravings.
It may look drabby on the outside, but...

The inside is pure elegance and the food is inexpensive! The entertainment is great, although at times it can get pretty crowded. They hold salsa lessons and competitions, it's great. The food is delicious and the drinks are not so pricey. I love coming here on Tuesdays or Thursdays just to dance.
This place rocks

What a surprise! A friend in Orange County asked us to find a place half-way between there and Hollywood, and it was AMAZING. Superb food, great inexpensive bottles of wine, and the service was unbelievable. Will return. Also, check out the happy hour.
- Pros: Huge Portions, Inexpensive Wines
- Cons: Drab Exterior

Steven's Mignon is melt in your mouth superb. The food is fresh and delicious. This is an established restaurant. My parents used to take me there for our "fancy dinners" and now my 18 year old and I go to enjoy the dining. There is room for improvement in the dinning room. It's too small and the music is loud at times - but the atmosphere is great. My husband and I often enjoy cozy late night dinner and dancing there. Service is usually good.
- Pros: menu variety, good parking
- Cons: loud music
Food is better than the service..

They were holding two dance classes (competition) at the time when we were dining at the restaurant. The noise bothers us from time to time, especially when the sound proof door is opened by the dancers, you felt like you are in some late night club with elegant food catering. You will love the environment if you love salsa dance. The food overall is pretty nice (had baby back rib, porterhouse and platter of assorted appetizers - this is a great value), but our waitress isn't very pleasant.
Excellent taste and variety

When you arrive the place looks like if it was a medieval castle but inside the elegance is one of a kind, the food is excellent in every way, every detail is to love this place, you can host event parties, meetings anything at a really good price and really good taste, i love tis place even thought i barely discover it. ;)
- Pros: food, easy to find, value
- Cons: , kind of dim sometimes
