I fly out of LAX about twice a month and have parked at Park Air Express numerous times. While their service seemed good at first, recently I have had significant problems.

In June my wife stopped briefly at their facility to drop off her sister. She was verbally abused by their security guard.

Also in June I left a car for a week with their valet service; I scheduled a full detail. When I got the car back, the carpet was wet and mildewed and all of the contents of the glove boxes and storage compartments had been removed and tossed in the rear compartment. My prescription glasses had been lost.

I filed a claim with Park Air Express but it was denied because they are "not responsible for items left in cars". Apparently this also applies to items that their employees remove and loose. Despite the fact that their employee lost the items and did the damage, they refused to take any responsibility for the loss, citing the contract on the back of the parking ticket. They would not even credit the $220 charge for the parking and detail.

If you part there keep in mind that they take no responsibility for any loss or damage to your car -- even when it is their fault.

  • Pros: Proximity to LAX
  • Cons: Management will not take responsibility when problems occur

DON'T EVER TRUST YOUR CAR TO THESE PEOPLE!!! SOMEONE STOLE PARTS OFF MY ENGINE!

by prrrrple at Citysearch

I have used Park Air Express for years without incident (always parking it myself and keeping the key, even though that can be a hassle) but recently started using their valet service to save time. I really paid for that convenience last time.

When I picked up my car 2 days later, the check engine light was on and it was making a hissing sound. Someone had stolen the MAP sensor (manifold absolute pressure sensor) off of my engine! This is something that requires tools, although the sensor is easily accessible. Obviously, someone with the same type of vehicle (Acura Integra) decided that they needed the sensor more than I did! Could you imagine if they had taken something else??? Very scary. It was almost midnight on a Saturday when I picked up my car, so not only did I have to take the time and money to go to my mechanic and have the sensor replaced, I also had to wait until Monday. When I told the Assistant manager he said he would send a claim to their insurance company, but offered no apology for what happened.

I have since heard from the insurance company who denied the claim, but had the wrong date for the incident and stated that it didn't happen while the car was at Park Air Express. Since the Assistant Manager refused to give me the insurance company's number, saying that he would take care of it, I guess that's why they got the wrong date. So, I am now detailing the incident to the insurance company to hopefully get reimbursed for at least the expense, if not my wasted time.

Bottom line: Don't ever leave your car at Park Air Express if you want to keep all of its components intact! When they ask how long you'll be leaving it, they might just be planning how much time they have to go through it and get their tools!

  • Pros: close to LAX, friendly bus drivers
  • Cons: untrustworthy, steal parts off your car

LAX parking with minimum hassle

by xela92 at Citysearch

This locale is not bad for parking your car and protecting it against the natural elements outside (the parking is all underground.) However, the parking attendants will give you better parking guidance if you speak 'spanish.' Sucks, but very true. Besides, the van ride to and from the air terminals are not jammed packed like Parking Lot C vans! That alone makes parking here worth it!

Underground Parking

Good if you're going out of town for several days, so your car doesn't burn up. Safe from acid rain, also.
