An all-time favorite!

I love the "Spoon." When Schwab's closed, all the actors moved down to Theodore's cafe (now named Silver Spoon). You can always see some face you recognize. The food is diner fare and the place is owned by a Greek family. They have a separate full bar and outside patio seating. Make sure you ask for Gloria as your waitress...she is a hoot and always has a funny joke or story to relate. Nice big parking lot. Oscar nominated actor Robert Forster is always holding court out on the patio at his corner table. Sally Kirkland is usually table hopping and making a fuss about something or the other. Lots of industry types abound. It's a fun place with good food and Gloria was voted "Best Waitress in Los Angeles" by a leading LA magazine. All of the wait staff are great and service is prompt and friendly. Long live the "Spoon".
- Pros: Gloria!
- Cons: None
top 5 breakfast place in weho!
by bananasareformonkeys
great value comfort food. 10dollars for an omlette so big that after you've had enough you can take it home and finish it for dinner. great food at a great price. can't wait to go again. try the mediterranean omlette, it's heaven!
- Pros: the balcony!
Great Eggs

If you're looking for a great omelet, I suggest you look no further. It's comfort breakfast food at its finest.
- Pros: Breakfast, Orange Juice, Great Wait Staff
- Cons: Little Pricey
A huge menu, generous portions and full bar make this a promising spot for a morning-after brunch--minus the usual WeHo wait.

In Short
From heaping plates of scrambled egg whites to burgers, gyros and cakes displayed in rotating glass, this no-frills diner dishes up big meals and potent cocktails. Career waitresses sling buttered toast at eclectic diners, as well as a fair number of celebrities: Quentin Tarantino and Shelly Winters are frequently spotted.
Trying to be something it's not.

Silver Spoon strikes me as a Denny's trying to be upscale. The price is more than Denny's while the food doesn't quite equal. They serve expensive booze and the waiters seem rather slow on the uptake. Not good value for money
- Pros: Location
- Cons: not good value
A lil corner of heaven

Most importantantly, the food is fantastic. One can just blindly choose a item off the menu and have a great meal in a flash. Chef Luis Del Campo is a artist when it comes to his dishes, the home-made "Beef Stew" is to die for and that fabulous chicken breast stuffed with spinach and fetta cheese in just one of a kind. And u cannot come here and not taste Chef Del Campos' "Pot Roast Over Noddles," my personaly favorite. Its not weird to hear a customer talking about the great feeling it is to be in such a wonderfull place where the food is great and the atmosphere is pleasant. If u come in the mornings, you are probably going to find Robert Foster eating in his private table enjoing the food his self proclaimed "personal office". Its a great place and very highly recommended from this amature critic.
- Pros: Large Menu, outside seating, great food
Authentic diner, great service
by mimimonk
I just moved to LA from NYC and was thrilled to find this authentic diner in my new neighborhood.
Excellent, generously portioned egg dishes (love that green chili omelet) come with decadent hash browns and crusty, tasty toast.
What is a professional waiter like Nick doing in a place like this? Who knows, but enjoy his superior service since you can.
This place gets crazy-busy during weekend brunch hours, just like every other brunch place on Santa Monica Blvd.
Outdoor seating is available - and popular - but I prefer sitting inside where I can enjoy the spacious old-world interior. Decor consists of 1960s wood paneling, a classic lunch counter, and autographed and framed movie posters of cinema legends as well as campy gems.
Oh, and the coffee is great (better than Buzz across the street!) and the iced tea is bottomless!
- Pros: room for big groups, attentive service, on-site parking lot
- Cons: limited vegan options
