I am always open to new experiences, and this was not my first Mongolian restaurant, but most of the food here was just bad...and its on sunset??? unacceptable. sorry
Example: great place for good bread

This place needs to be updated. They even give you old towels for a napkin. The food used to be good but now it's horrible. The dancers there look old with skin hanging off them. After the owner died I see that this place is ready to be axed for how can it stay in business? The bread was old and the meat tasted like cafeteria food. There's the same down the block that's cheaper and nice looking dancers called Moon of Tunis.
- Pros: better than throwing the money out on the street
- Cons: food not good for the money
Food is whatever, but service is terrible.

We went to this restaurant because my friends teacher was belly dancing there that night. The menu is set and ran about $35 per person. The eggplant salad to start was really good, but when I asked him for a fork or a spoon to eat it with he told me that I was supposed to eat it with my hands, because that was the tradition. Even though all of the tables around us had silverware. He ended up bringing me a spoon, but with attitude. After this incident, he was rude for the rest of the evening, and when he brought the bill, I asked him for change for my $100 bill, and he told me he didn't have change. I was so disgusted at this point, that I couldn't wait to leave. We were 4 girls all together, so we paid with cash, and the balance on 1 girls credit card, he took the bill and asked us if we would be tipping him using this cash or if we were going to put it on the card. He was so rude it was unbelievable. This place looked like it was right out of some village, and they gave you freaking beach towels as napkins, and they keep the bread in a sombrero like basket that EVERYONE in the restaurant puts their hands on to take their own bread. I could go on, and on, but all I can say is that there are a MILLION other restaurants in Los Angeles, that are soooooo much better than this place. I will never go there again.
- Pros: Honestly, there are no pros.
- Cons: The service, the prices, the cleanliness.
Food- Not So Good
by alissabeth at Citysearch
We went here for New Years and although we had a great time in the company of our close friends, the food was bland and overcooked in general. Even the bread wasn't good. It would have been nice for someone to tell me when I made the reservation that it would be a price fixed meal. We would have preferred to order from a menu and have more choice. I would skip this place if you are looking for good Moroccan food. We also did not love the ambiance-- it was a bit bright for dinner.
- Pros: Good for Large Group
- Cons: Bad Food
Too many courses of very rich food.

I loved the interior and the whole look of the place but I have been here twice now with a large group and did not enjoy the experience either time.
There are too many courses and the food is incredibly rich. Some of the dishes are supposed to be eaten with your hands but it doesn't really work in large groups with sloppy sauces! Our group was put in a very dark corner with no lamps or candles and we could not hear the music. I felt that I was paying for lots of food that I did not really want as it is a set dinner.
- Pros: wonderful interior with fountain and mosaics
- Cons: Set dinner with too many courses
Perfect For an Arabian Nights Experience minus the horses

The decor was gorgeous. The belly dancers were cool. Feel free to join in if you like. The food was very disappointing. I found it to be bland and very watered down. I felt like I wanted to add salt and pepper to most of the dishes that were served. The wait staff was attentive and the service was excellent. You're paying for the experience.
- Pros: Ambience, valet parking, entertainment
- Cons: Food
we were disappointed! too expensive and you feel glutenously full.

me and my boyfriend went on a friday evening and had a good time. but the belly dancer was not pretty at all, she was my mother's age or older. they automatically served everyone a 7 course meal!!! can you imagine. well we were very relaxed but by the 4th course we were full and had to pay a $110 bill for the both of us. we also had one alcoholic beverage each. i don't recommend it because it's not all that it seemed to be. not worth the money you will end up spending. left overs aren't good either. ;(
- Pros: service
- Cons: entertainment, food, pricy
GOT ROBBED!!!
by beachbm at Citysearch
BE WARE!!! We paid our 400 dollar bill and were wait for the valet to bring our car when the waiter and manager came out and accused us of not paying. We explained to him that if we had not paid the bill than we would have run away, not stayed there for 15 minutes while they refused to even look for the cash or talk to other waiters. The owner then called the police even though all 6 of us stayed there. The manager told our dates in explatives that we were criminals. THE EXPERIENCE is not WORTH THIS RUDE ATMOSPHERE...!!!!
Simply put: someone on the staff is a criminal and the owner did not even consider the possiblity!!
- Pros: Fun Atmosphere
- Cons: Robbed by the Staff (literally)

OMG!!! I took my boyfriend of five years here fro his birthday. It was awesome. As soon as we walked in we were like "where are we"... the decor is awesome and fun. There are no tables, chairs, or silverware here-- instead there are low couches that line the rooms full will pillows you can relax on while you await one of the seven courses that is coming your way. Everyone from the host to the waiters are wearing traditional clothing and you really get transported to Morroco while you are here-- like I said SEVEN courses and boy are they tasty... and to top it all of live belly dancing!!!!!! For two plan on around 100.00 including drinks... very reasonable for all the food you get (they are happy to give you a box for all the lef overs). The only thing I felt like I was missing was my hookah!
- Pros: food, atmosphere,dancers, pillows!!!!
- Cons: no hookahs--
Impressive Decor, Romantic, Excellent Food

Dar Maghreb is an excellent date spot if you really want to WOW your spouse/girlfriend/boyfriend. The decor is extremely intricate, it makes you feel like in a morrocan castle once you enter the restaurant. The food is great and the portion is generous, and not to forget it's a 7 course meal. I think $37/person is quite reasonable considering the quality and the amount of food you're getting. Just remember to come with an empty stomach. You don't want to miss a single course, especially not the B'Stilla, which is just excellent and you can't just find it in any Morrocan restaurant (The dish is difficult to make).
