Aaardvark's( spelled with 3 AAAs) has moved from it's oringinal location on Melrose Ave to 7566 Melrose ave. It's no longer the corner store on Melrose/ Curson to my surprise. Now it's on the south side of the street on melrose and Curson where Drake's used to be. They still carry one of a kind clothing from original 1920's-30's through the 1980's to contemporary clothing. I love this store because you can find something funky that's one of a kind. The new location is smaller, but cozy. The staff is friendly and helpful to help you find what you need. It makes for a great come back!
Shop here if you enjoy unprofessional rudeness and torn water damaged clothing

Now let me be fair and start off by saying, I used to shop here quite frequently and never had any serious complaints. However, on my last few trips to LA I have attempted to have a good experience shopping here but I have to finally say I will NEVER be going again.
First of all, my boyfriend accidently left his wallet there last month (his fault, I know) but what infuriated us was the fact that an employee had found the wallet which had all of our vacation money in it and lied about it to his face! This was also despite the fact other employees later told us it had been found, but never returned to us!
This was the last straw for us. Before everything else was tolerable because of their super low prices. But don't be fooled by their cheapness, you'll get a better deal at the Salvation Army and at least their clothes will be in better condition.
If you still feel up to digging through, be sure you inspect everything before you buy it!
My last time shopping here I got home only to discover all my dresses had funky water stains on them that smelled moldy even after a trip to the dry cleaners!! To top it off, only two had working zippers and the rest had various tears, stains and holes. No wonder they have a no returns no refunds policy!
- Pros: Really really cheap clothes
- Cons: Damaged clothing/funky smells, Rude staff!! Have to hunt thru too much stuff
Cheap, vintage threads

I love coming here...its so much fun! It's like you go back in time, but always manage to find something cool to wear now....I have found some pretty cool things that dont look too old or wasted....and the prices are reasonable..u know how sometimes you go into a vintage/thrift store and you might as well buy something new cuz of the high price? not here, prices are good and clothing is awesome..
- Pros: cheap prices
- Cons: find larger selection
This no-frills Melrose landmark serves up funky, used threads for every fashion scene.

In Short
Featuring everything from T-shirts to wedding gowns, this grab-bag shop specializes in offbeat, appealing duds that go against the store's otherwise minimalist approach. A warning on the door ("No Shopping Bags, No Strollers") instantly alerts you to who's in charge. Check out the old-fashioned swimsuits, two-tone wigs, security guard uniforms, tunics and trashy baby-doll nightgowns that could pass for something out of Courtney Love's old wardrobe.

Aardvark's is hit or miss. You can get some unusual stuff, but a lot of the items are overpriced. A good place to go to find stuff for a costume or even for tuxedo shirts if you're a waiter.

I always have a blast looking around the Venice store. You never know what you're going to find. My boyfriend now makes regular visits and has picked up everything from old western shirts to camo shorts. Who knew we'd ever see those again...
- Pros: cheap, good finds
- Cons: his or miss selection
