take all these reviews into account

Notice that almost everyone has had a bad experience here. For some reason Jerry's has gained noteriety as a good place to go, and even attracts the likes of Paris Hilton (my brother saw her there once). I've never understood the attraction. I've tried it a few times (mostly for a late night snack) and been disappointed every time. The food is mediocre and the service isn't very good either. Whichever location you're at, there's probably something else 10 times better for half the price no more than a few blocks away.

  • Pros: trendy atmosphere
  • Cons: mediocre food, mediocre service, not a good value

Gets Worse Every Year

by Stanley225

This is not a deli. It's a pretend deli. The menu is way too large to make a quality product. The service can be really bad. Late night you can forget about it. I would avoid this place. Even if you have a sick relative at Cedar's, walk the block to the Beverly Center where they have a sufficient food court and if you walk one more block there are several decent restaurants on La Cienega. The Grand Luxe Cafe is one of them and puts this place to shame. The Jerry's at the beach is a little better, but I would just avoid this one. Greasy tables included.

worst service ever by mary !!!

by elmatador123

Definetly not what i expected. when my waitress was taking my order, i felt rushed i wasnt even finished ordering when my waitress walked away from me. I ordered a chicken quesadilla. when i got my meal it seamed as if i ordered a chicken soup, i think the bus boy cooked it. I asked my waitress if i can get another one. It was also horrible, and over priced. If their gona charge that much they should at least use chicken breast. The only good thing i can say about jerry's is they have a good desert menu.

  • Pros: desert menu
  • Cons: horrible service

From borscht to burritos, this deli serves mighty portions to an eclectic, devoted crowd.

In Short
This after hours deli is a popular late-night nosh spot for locals and tourists alike. Cold cut-loving celebrities, such as Jerry Seinfeld and Larry Flynt, have been spotted digging into triple-decker sandwiches--pastrami, turkey, Reubens and Monte Cristos are house favorites. The menu features hundreds of other items, as well, and crosses multiple ethnicities. A broad selection of vegetarian-friendly salads and pastas are also available.

Pretty Bad - Never going back

by ual320

Greek salad was poor at best. Just mixed greens, no romaine, no lemon, cheap oil and vinegar, white onion (not red onioin), no bell pepper, no pepperocini, no cucumber, no chopped parsley, and bad feta. Other than that, it was a good greek salad.

Pastrami sandwich was salty and light on the meat.

I had not been to Jerry's in several years. I was at the hospital and my wife wanted a pastrami sandwich.

While eating I remember our last meal was pretty bad too. I'll try to remember not to go back. I had been to Nate'n'Als a few weeks back - wow, what a difference! Plus, Jerry's was expensive - talk about bad value. If you are going to charge a lot, at least have the decency to serve good food.

  • Pros: I did not die
  • Cons: Bad food - for a restaurant, that's about it.

Chicken and rice soup is AMAZING!

by eastcoastcritic

I love this place. Don't expect good service, yeah it's pricey but the soup is killer and a few other items. Any time I have a cold I come here and feel much better after.

  • Pros: easy valet, soup
  • Cons: slow service

Furniture ads inside the menu! Tacky!

by riotgear

Not only is a mediocre Club Sandwich $15.75, there are about 5 full page local ads inside the menu. It made me laugh. That's one of the stingiest, tackiest things I've ever seen. Lose 'em Jerry. This is merely a deli, but with upscale prices. The servers aren't very attentive or happy either. There are plenty of other restaurants blocks away with better food, service, prices and ambiance. Wouldn't you be embarrassed to take a date to a restaurant that had full page auto ads on page 3 next to the dinner specials? Then to get stuck with a $60 sandwich tab for two? Who wants that?

  • Pros: Nice part of town
  • Cons: Tacky & Expensive

Service? WHAT SERVICE? AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!

by omdspace

I eat out a lot and more often than not I am not that critical of any

restaurant. With that said, I thought going to a famous place such as this,

I couldn't really go wrong, or at least not that wrong. My fiance and I came

to the restaurant in the Westwood location with hungry stomachs and ready to

experience some good food and enjoy a nice dinner. The restaurant was pretty

empty that night since it was later in the night. The staff was plenty and

not understaffed in comparison to the number of patrons that were there, but

we waited at the front door for some time until the manager actually came up

to seat us. I didn't pay this any mind and didn't think anything of it. I

just wanted to try out the food in a new town (I just moved here to LA).

Well, from that moment that we were seated with our menus a number of

waiters and waitresses were out and about servicing their customers and

tables. A few even made eye contact with us. None came by our table to even

ask us if we wanted some water. None even came by to see if we were ready to

order. None even bothered to say a "Hi" NONE!!! For over 20 minutes of

sitting there, NO ONE even came to our table. OVER 20 MINUTES!!! I mean come

on. Is it that hard to say "Hello?"

I would have loved to be able to say good things about the food even if the

service was bad, but I didn't even get to that point. After asking for a

comment form, which they didn't have BTW, and talking to the manager about

their bad service, we proceeded to walk out. Of course the manager offered

to seat us up front then and have his best person wait on us, but we didn't

want that kind of service. We'd rather have it genuine so we walked out.

As I've said above, I've eaten at a lot of restaurants, but have never given

a review til now. All I can say is that if I had to sign up for citysearch

to let everyone know how bad place was, then that should tell you something.

HORRIBLE!!!

  • Pros: What pros? Are you kidding me?
  • Cons: Service? WHAT SERVICE???

16.50 for an overpriced pastrami sandwich????you have got to be kidding me. my takeout menu went from 9.65 to 16.50 for a mediocre at best sandwich. Will never ever get sucked into that trap again.

Worst food ever!

by hiphophead

You know this place is going to be terrible when you open up the menu. How can you have a thousand items on the menu and make anything taste decent?! This place is just an over-hyped Denny's. Actually, I'd prefer Denny's... Skip this place and just go to an all-night taco stand. Definitely the worst food I've ever had in L.A.

  • Pros: Nothing
  • Cons: Everything
