So disappointing!!!
We called in on Thursday and found out that they have music, a belly dancer and food on Saturday night, which was offered for $35 per person. So, we made a reservation for 19 people. When we got inside, the tables were rearranged and we sat pretty tight together. We ordered drinks first which was on the table right away. When ordering the food it took 2 hours, and the kids (age 9-15) got hungry and were nagging. A few appetizers were brought and everybody (of course starving) was attacking the appetizer so we ordered another plate. (Btw, they only brought one appetizer plate for 19 ppl till we ordered another one) The waiter finally came back, after forever, and said the fish was already sold out and we had to order something else. Meanwhile, we were still waiting for the food, but at least we were enjoying the really good singer and drinks. We left the restaurant at 2am, BUT when we got the bill, we were SHOCKED!!! The appetizer was NOT included in the $35! The drinks were OVERCHARGED - they asked for one bottle "Johnny Walker Black Labe" $280 and a bottle of vodka "Grey Goose" was $180. That was a big rip off compared to other restaurants we have been to. Also, I have to admit the food was not the best. We're used to eating Persian food in Glendale, Westwood, etc, but I am absolutely NOT recommending Shah Abbas to anybody after this experience.
- Pros: no pros
- Cons: total rip-off
Bad place, bad people and bad food.
by Izzy
This is a horrible place, if you are not Persian or don't speak Farsi the prices go up and service comes down. The food was a cold and they try to fill you up with rice instead of meat. I would not recommend this place to anyone!
Good place to be

Great location, nice interior design, very friendly staff. The food was great, prices are reasonable and the best part, they have an outside patio where you can smoke hookah ! :)
A little taste of Persia--and a touch of grandeur--are had at this beguiling San Vicente strip mall eatery.

In Short
From the outside you might not notice this corner strip mall spot, but step inside and the replicated grandeur of its namesake makes a decidedly different impression. Named after one of the best known kings of Persia, this brilliantly colored restaurant of palatial proportions is where local familes and neighborhood couples come for some serious Middle Eastern grubbing. Dishes include basics like various meat kebabs and stews as well as house specialties like zereshk polo, a chicken dish flavored with sweet-and-sour currant and saffron.
I love the chicken log

On average I eat here about once a week for lunch (delivery) and I can say honestly I'll keep going here for the foreseeable future. I mainly order my staples which are chicken koobideh, white fish, and shirazi salad all with cherry rice and all of it is yummy.
Delivery is normally quick (I've never actually eaten there) around 30-45 minutes and the order is always right. I've been ordering from here for the last 5 years and not once has the order been wrong, cold or sub-par.
One tip - make sure you have the current menu; we once ordered off an old menu and got incorrect pricing. The staff is always nice and the guy who takes our phone orders is seriously patient - we've ordered for up to 20 people for lunch all with different orders.
Definite keeper for the 10 dollar lunch in WEHO.
Love the Lunch Specials
by porkjello
I have not eaten at the actual restaurant but my office buddies have lunch delivered from this place frequently. So far, I've tried the chicken koobideh and the chicken kabob lunch specials and both are very good. Not only is the food good, they have been able to deliver large lunch orders in less than 45 minutes. Whenever someone mentions that they are ordering from Shah-abbas for lunch here at my job, it normally turns into a huge lunch order for two floors.
- Pros: Good lunch specials. They deliver.
I eat here once a week, every week

I work on Sunset Blvd near Holloway, and this place was recommended by a colleague. I love persian food, and after trying it once it became a regular. I think almost everything is good (we order in groups so i see different dishes) but i almost always have either the grilled ground chicken kebobs, or the bodmegan (eggplant stew in tomato sauce) or the Sabzi (which is some kind of green stew with meat). they go really heavy on the white rice, so be prepared to throw it away or die from carb overload 2 hours later. i don't know what the place looks like, but for delivery it is a good choice.
only persian family nightlife in los angeles
by nasime
Sad but true. Shah abbas is the only restaurant a persian family can go to these days that offers live entertainment with semi legite persian singers and musicians in all of LA. There are a couple in the valley, but this is it in LA. So for being the one and only choice, I give it the brave owner an A+. He's pulled it off and some. Ambience, food and service are all above average.
