Good food at this place. Highly recommend the BURST OF BLUE smoothie. Good service. Not pretentious at all.

I've eaten there on several occasions, and had great service and great food. Recently, I had the unfortunate circumstance to be waited on by a young man who couldn't care less about any of the diners he was serving. Not only did my five friends and I all have something to complain about with this waiter, the table next to us were shocked as well. The bus boys were doing all of the work, and when our waiter came around (only once) to check on us, we had already been taken care of by the bus boys. I wanted to tip the bus boys but couldn't do that without tipping the lousy waiter. I served drinks and food in LA since 1990 and tip really well, since I lived off tips for many, many years, but this was one of those rare circumstances where I actually brought something up with the owner/manager, and he was even rude with me. If you go there, only get waited on by anyone who's not a young, thin man who likes to flirt with other men. Wish I knew his name. It's too bad one lousy server and a encounter with an angry manager/owner can ruin a fun place to go after a movie. I wasn't going to go there ever again, until I met another manager and a waitress who work there, who were really cool. I told them about what happened, and lo and behold.... they actually knew who the waiter was, just from my description! Seems like the angry manager/owner really loves the guy that we had a problem with. Not only was his service bad, one of my friend ordered a shake, and tasted it. It was the wrong flavor, so the waiter took it back, but the other table ordered a shake too, so the waiter just took the shake to the other table without making a new one! EWWWW..... If the waiter had even cared to pause long enough from flirting with other men, we would have told him that our friend tasted it and that it should be dumped!

Really like the vibe there, ..we sat at the counter as the cast (and I say cast, because in this diner, the wait staff looks cast, rather than hired) of friendly waiters gave us a menu of regular diner choices (burgers, chilli cheese fries, eggs and bacon etc.), yet in true L.A. fashion, there were also heaps of vegetarian and vegan options. like that they make an effort to serve organic produce. My burger was so-so, kind of tasteless to be honest. And my blueberry shake tasted more like banana than anything else. But my boyfriend's classic selection of tuna melt (delish!) and chocolate shake (yum) raised the bar a little. Jukebox available to play all the edgy hits. Indie crowd with dark styled hair and girls with Betty Paige bangs.

Pros: open til 4AM, vibe, good for non-American tourists perhaps, organic and veggie choices

Cons: hamburger needs more kick and salt

Ok - we've gone dozens of times for breakfast, so i can only speak to that. Its a really good place. Not excellent but really good. The menu has a variety of things and a veggie like me can always find something. The decor is fun and lively. The service is good, friendly and eager to please. Sure, there have been glitches however the good experiences far out weigh any problems we've encountered. I'm in my mid 50's and the young set working and frequenting the place never make you feel out of place. I guess that's why i keep returning -- consistently good food, lively atmosphere and reasonable prices. If you've had a bad experience there - give it another shot. The place grows on you.,,

I love Swingers for casual post-dancing food, or just when I want to go out with friends and have a good time without spending much or getting dressed up. I reccomend the breakfast and the appetizer especially, and the desserts are uncommonly tastey for a "diner". I like they they use real maple syrup, olive oil an butter- none of the usual corn syrup/margarine stuff you et at a diner- it's not health food but it's "real" food. What compelled me to write a review initially was actually a bad experience with a new server there- I went with a friend after celebrating her birthday with a group of friends, and when I pulled the waiter aside to ask if he could stick a candle in "anything" so we could surprise her and sing to her, his response was simply "well, we don't have any free desserts if thats what you want", to which I said "no, I want to be able to sing happy birthday to her, I expect anything we order to show up on the bill", he left, and later brought the bill with no candle in anything- not even the sandwich she ordered! So my friend got out a match, lit it, and we sang to her, which may have been more fun, but I felt rather insulted that th waiter brushed me off as trying to score a free 3.95$ cupcake and a 22 cent candle. I still recommend Swingers for fun casual dining, just be aware that it's noisy with lots of juke box music, so this isn't a casual place to bring your family so much, more of a place to go with friends to get excited about a night out. The staff if usually fairly friendly and happy.

Pros: Best diner food, fun atmosphere, very cheap, good music

Cons: One rude waiter, parking is a struggle.

Cute friendly warm staff. Decent food and prices. Seems a little hip, but it's not pretentious or exclusive. The food is only a bit above average, but it's open late at has a good atmosphere.

Pros: Staff

I love swingers. Jen is the coolest server ever. The seared tuna sandwich with ginger dressing is great. The shakes are pretty good too.

i really love swingers because its easy to get healthy (quinoa instead of fries with a burger or hell, they even have a good veggie burger) food late at nite. my other favorites are the ahi sandwich, vegan cobb salad and tuna melt. recently there have been a few changes for the better- RED VELVET CAKES!!! oh so good. ive been a regular for quite some time and really love how cute all the wait staff is. ask for jen or pixie - they are both hot and realllll nice.

Pros: cheap quality food, good jukebox, nice service

Cons: parking

Finally a place that has healthy food that doesn't make me feel like a hippy! It's nice to be able to eat at a place my friends love and not have to order from the "Healthy Section" of the menu. And they have green Tabasco and agave syrup on every table - impressive. Clearly the people who run this place pay attention to their clientele.

Swingers is THE BEST DINER in LA. I learned that Sean MacPherson owner of Jones Hollywood, El Carmen, Good Luck Bar, Bar Marmont and Bar Lubitsch also is the genius behind Swingers. i read the reviews and there is one really nasty one that is just NOT the experience i have had the dozen or so times ive been since moving from the East Coast. the servers are HOT, the food is great (the best fries and rocket shake ever, the music is fantasic and the people watching and celebirty watching is fun. I sat next to Drew Carey at the counter twice in 2 days. only downs...no parking

Pros: great food, music, people watching. healthy choices

Cons: parking
