Well, I've tried other colorists (three) and by far Ernie is the BEST!!! He's fun, charming, talented (he's fixed my hair twice when I went to others). I'm half Asian and have naturally very dark brown hair. He makes me look like a natural blonde! Even girls with light brown hair who get highlights can't tell.... unless my roots are long. He and the other people there ROCK! I've spent many hours at Taboo, and watched clients come and go. Everyone who comes in walks out looking great! Doesn't matter if it's a cut, color or other process, they do a great job at all of it!

Pros: Great staff, light, bright, and fun atmosphere

Cons: Parking is a biatch. It's best to park at Beverly Connection and walk. But they feed the meter for you if you get lucky!

This isn't really a review, but a question for those that have left reviews. I live in NY and will be traveling to CA, I need a hair salon for a special event (possibly an updo or just blown out and curly or straight), I was wondering if anyone knows or would recommend this place for that type of service. I've been reading the reviews here and see a lot about how wonderful their haircuts are, also I was wondering what type of salon this is, is it upscale? nice? small? Any information would be helpful, thanks.

I went to Taboo to see Erik who i heard is is great with short dos. Overall It was a lovely experience. The highlight was the scalp massage. I felt absolutely rejuvinated after the scalp massage I recieved from Tiffany. She really had an experienced touch and had lots of answers for me. She identified what kinds of products I needed for my problem hair and scalp. She was knowlageable and really took the time to explain more about some of the products I was curious about. I highlhy reccomend this salon.

I have been to so many hair dressers, and they always give me the same boring hair cut. I started going to ERIC about a year ago, and he always cuts and styles my hair so that it is edgy, but sophisticated! He is very honest with me about what will or will not look good, and is always up to date on what is the latest and greatest in hair trends. I always know that I can trust Eric to give me a cut that is stylish and suits my personal face and style. I recommended Eric to my boss, who has extremely curly hair, and she says its the best hair cut she's ever had for curly hair. Thanks Eric!

He 's young, he's talented and truly listens. Great combo for a terrific stylist. I have very short hair and he does an amazing precision cut with it. The compliments never stop. Thanks Eric, you rock!

As a hairdresser myself it is extremely difficult to find someone who meets my expectations in both quality and customer service, however, I must say that Eric John at Taboo salon is not only extremely talented, but well versed in customer service. Eric has been doing my hair for three years now and has given me every haircut from Ashley Simpsons pre-nose-job rocker shag to Victoria Beckams polished yet sleek A-line bob. Though I work in a pretty posh salon in Beverly hills with some amazing hairdressers I would never let anyone touch my hair but Eric. If you are looking for a hairdresser, or just wanna try something new, I highly recommend Eric John for an extreme ego boost!!!!!

I have stayed away from hair salons since a bad experience years ago. I saw a woman with fabulous hair one day, and I had to ask her who did her hair. She told me Madison and Esther at Taboo does her hair. Well, I got up enough courage to make an appointment. I'm so glad that I did. Madison did my highlights and Esther cut my hair. The color turned out amazing. It really brightened up my face and made my skin look softer. And the cut was shaped really well for my face. They both understood my fear and were very patient with me. I never realized just how good my hair can look. The prices were fairly reasonable for the quality of the work. It goes to show that you really do get what you pay for.

I needed a haircut badly but didn't know where to go. I just moved to the area and was looking for a new stylist. A friend recommended I go see Esther. She was SUPER nice and gave me a new creative cut that I just lovvvve! I get compliments on it all the time and my husband thinks I look hot. Definitely would recommed her to anyone.

I've been to getting my haircut from Esther for the past 2 years. She's very pleasant and easy to talk to. I walk in not knowing what I want to do to my hair and each time I leave extremely happy. Even months after my last cut, my co-workers and friends are still complimenting my hair.

Gill, owner, stylist, has cut my hair since Taboo opened. I have always been impressed with the way she cuts my hair; it is consistently stylish and I get what I ask for. Also, Aaron is a great colorist at Taboo.

Pros: good service, graet ambiance, stylish, modern and cool!
