Best Martial Arts School

JCTKD is a fantastic martial arts school. They have classes on every day of the week. They have not only evening but also day classes (no evening classes on Sat & Sun). They teach both adults and children, all levels. They have been in business since 1973, longer than any other martial arts school in Los Angeles. Master Chong is a professional instructor and leader, highly respected in his field both here and in South Korea, home of international Tae Kwon Do. What I like best about the school is the personal attention Master Chong and his other instructors give to every student to motivate him/her to achieve their full potential. Master Chong is the best.

Good for children and adults

This martial arts studio has good classes for children and adults. Some schools only focus on kids and do not offer a full program for grownups, but they offer beginner classes all the way to black belt for all ages. It is convenient that they have classes 7 days a week. Intense kicking and cardio. Lost 5 pounds the first month without diet!

The school that breeds champions!

I was walking to my appointment today when I passed this Kav Maga school and my desire was to stop, stare and watch them train as they were all lined up to punch the bag. So I did soon after my meeting was over. What a difference in training!!! Granted two completely different styles of self defense yet the TKD taught by Grand Master Jun Chong far supersedes the mediocre style of fighting being demonstrated. i was able to appreciate the repetitive punching and kicking that is driving us to Excellence. God Bless Grand Master Chong!

Best Taekwondo School anywhere!

When you consider Grand Master Jun Chong's infinite experience in Taekwondo and other martial arts, the quality of his teaching staff and all the awesome extra programs they provide throughout the year you would be hard pressed to find a better Taekwondo school anywhere! I personally could not be happier or more grateful to have my son at Jun Chong Taekwondo.

Best Martial Arts in Los Angeles!

Open since 1973, where else can you find a school with a 9th degree black belt Grandmaster teaching classes and that's open 7 days a week? From actors, doctors, stuntmen, and entire families, Jun Chong Martial Arts has been providing genuine traditional martial arts to generations of those who want to learn more than just kicking and punching.

The perfect gym alternative

This is a great alternative to the gym. Classes vary, but never too many people to where you don't get the attention you deserve. Grandmaster Chong is a wonderful, patient teacher and helps you strive to reach your best efforts even when you had no idea you were capable of such efforts. As a female in my early twenties I felt comfortable going to class as there are both males and females to learn and work with. They are open 7 days a week, with some variation in schedule to fit in with your job or school. I found the day classes to suit me best. Classes vary depending on day and instructor so you don't get tired of doing the same thing or you are able to work more on certain things. If you hate going to the gym alone or want to learn some self defense moves, work out your energy or just break a sweat, this is definitely the class for you.

• Cons: main stretching class is just sunday

Traditional TKD CLASSES!

I recommend this martial arts studio to anyone interested in learning Tae Kwon Do. The instructors are enthusiastic and passionate about martial arts and how it emcompasses all aspects of ones life. This is a full contact sport where you can let go and release some of the energy after a long day at the office! It's truly enjoyable. I recommend if you join or take a class to visit the location on Wilshire Blvd.

Best Tae Kwon Do Studio in Los Angeles!

Grandmaster Jun Chong himself is available for private lessons and general class instruction. The other instructors are helpful and fair, and it is an exceptionally good environment for the young learners who are encouraged to be good listeners, try hard, be respectful and carry excellence with them in their other pursuits. Prices are reasonable given the high level of individualized attention. This is not the evil dojo from The Karate Kid!

Good place, not cheap

Particular instructors are really good -- different strokes for different folks; the place is pretty nice, if a little warm at times. Seems like it costs more than it should, but definitely not some kind of salesman pressure scam. They are welcoming to beginners, and it's fun to watch the advanced classes.
