Please do not visit this spot unless you like racists!

by dmarcha83

My friends and I after a great night of movie watching at The Landmark decided to go for drinks at Bourbon St. The owner Al seemed nice enough, until we started discussing immigration. Basically the owner began preaching to us about how immigrants are bringing down this country and that the school system should not teach Spanish speaking students Spanish in classrooms in order for them to learn English and receive an education. I am half Mexican, and took such extreme offense that I had to leave this establishment. I wish that I had never contributed money to Bourbon Street. Please do not visit this place as the owner of the bar made my friends and I very upset and uncomfortable!

  • Pros: They serve alcohol, thats about it.
  • Cons: The owner Al was horrible!

Run-of-the-mill Creolian food

by ntdang

This restaurant is located on Pico, in a very lively restaurant-laden area, with a very wide variety of different cuisines. The atmosphere is great, with big-screen TVs all around to watch the game on, and a good number of beers on tap. Service was great. The food was only OK though... rather bland. This is New Orleans food! Come on guys, Gumbo and Boullabaise should have more kick than this! My tongue should hurt so bad that I can't eat for a day afterward!

  • Pros: Nice laid-back drinking atmosphere
  • Cons: Bland food

My new favorite hang out!

by runningmoon

I went for the first time to this place before the movies last night with some friends and I was blown away by the food, the service, the atmosphere and the prices. It was so delicious...this will be one of my favorite spots from now on!. What a great little discovery, right here in my own neghborhood. Our waitress was really sweet and promt...she knew we had to leave for the show and made sure everything was served on time. Great Matgaritas, great amoshphere, Great FOOD!

  • Pros: great location, great prices, great food

GREAT FOOD, GREAT PRICES AND GREAT SERVICE

by cmilater

First of all, (03/31/2008 Posted by missgoodstuff) this person who wrote this review is an IDIOT!. this place rocks peoples, with Monday & Tuesday 2 for 1 Margarita's and Half Entrees, plus on Thursday you get 2 for 1 drinks and half price appetizers. The food is GREAT and so are the people, the place and the parking. I will highly recommend this to everyone.

missgoodtsuff, get off your period and go eat cake!

  • Pros: Great Prices
  • Cons: Get there early since it gets crowded

Food was good and i can't complain about the price!

by ach

wow, that last review was harsh! I've been to bourbon street a few times and I have to say that the food is decent and the price is not bad. Karaoke night can be fun if you are in the mood. There is no need for the New Orleans god to bring fire to this place.

SAVE YOUR MONEY!!

by missgoodstuff

absolutely horrid!! it's a shell of what it used to be. tough times must've fallen on this place because the food, which used to be delicious years ago, is now completely disgusting and tastes like it came out of a jar, box, or a frozen bag. the etouffee looks and tastes like very salty BAD japanese curry and the sauce for the shrimp alfred tasted like watery campbell's cheese soup with completely unseasoned shrimp. it's the worst 50 dollars i've ever spent!! even if you aren't a major foodie, the owner's obviously cutting corners where he shouldn't and doing a MAJOR disservice to his patrons. i could tell he relies on the drinking crowd for their alcohol sales rather than the food items and it's a shame. thanks for nothing except a cranky evening, and may the gods of New Orleans bring fire to you for your absolute disrespect of Cajun cookery.

Fun Kareoke night

by jolie714

Food was mediocre but the events are fun. Most of the sea food is fried, the bar is kind of neat. The parking and entrace is annoying.

  • Pros: Fun event nights like kareoke
  • Cons: food quality is mediocre

I Loved this restaurant

by ericaluck

Hello,

This is my first time writing a review so bare with me.

This has to be one of my favorite spots now. As we walked through the door we were greeted by the bartender who happened to also be the waitress for the night. She was awesome and funny, but most importantly very polite and helpful. The atmosphere is dark and small, but just right for those who love to chat and watch t.v. with a couple of friends or solo. The food was served prompt no, waiting for 45 minutes and the food was GREAT, I believe I had the "Creole Pasta". Not, to mention the new open bar, with just about every drink. I highly recommend this place if you just want to get away and listen to music or watch t.v.

  • Pros: Parking is available on the streets at night.
  • Cons: Valet cost $3.00 and that is right next to the location.

AVOID...Waist of time and money

by killion

We continue to have bad experiences when we go to this place.

We were seated in a timely manner...BUT...IF YOU HAVE TIME TO WASTE THIS MAY BE THE PERFECT PLACE. The waitress was sweet but slow. She took awhile just to come to greet us, then slower to take our order. Our drinks took forever but our meal??? We waited longer than 35 minutes to the point that we requested our food "to go", well...that took another 10 minutes, and we didn't even get our complete order. As we waited for our food, we had ordered milk, it arrived curdled. When we got home to finally have the food for dinner, the salmon was dry and hard, the veggies were greasy and burnt, and the order was incorrect...we ended up throwing away our dinner and $40. Don't try this place; it?s a waste of time and money.

  • Pros: quick to be seated
  • Cons: service and food was terrible
