Best Italian Family Restaurant
by Lisa K at Citysearch
This intimate restaurant makes your Italian dining experience unforgettable! The menu selection holds a plethora of options ranging from Anti-pasta to Seafood. This family-run business is very tight knit and offers excellent customer service. Owners never forget a face!
- Pros: Amazing Lasagna, Pizza and Dessert Selection
- Cons: Sometimes the parking in the area is not so convenient.
BEST PIZZA IN THE WORLD.
by stevendollar at Citysearch
I love this place. The red booths and waiters are old school and awesome. The pizza is the best in the world. Order thin crust with green olives, black olives and mushrooms. The carafe of house wine is a deal for $18.00. Ignore the negative reviews...they're haters. 2 hour free parking down the street in the residential area. The pizza is expensive but well worth the money because it is incredible. If you can't afford to eat out stay at home and quit complaining. This place rocks.
- Pros: pizza, atmosphere, parking, waiters
- Cons: none
Over priced!
by brandie911 at Citysearch
We stopped in Anna's for a late lunch. My husband and I were the only customers in the place. The waiter was very nice. The service was fast. The atmosphere was quaint. The prices were way too high for what we ordered. We paid $35.00 for 2 pasta dishes, one order of spumoni ice crean and a diet soda. The food was good but not that good and the portions were only medium sized. I would expect either lower prices or larger portions in a place like this. $18.95 for a pasta dish that had minimal amounts of chicken in it is way too expensive. It was worth going there once but we have found italian food that is just as good for a lost less coin.
- Pros: tasty food
- Cons: way too pricey
wonderful food and service

I wanted to treat myself to a night out with a good book. Anna's was the perfect place! My server was an older gentleman who was SO NICE. He was attentive without being around too much. I was able to read, drink wine, and eat in peace. The ravioli is amazing. The house chianti is good. The bread was great. The ambiance perfect. I couldn't have had a better date with myself! YAY!
- Pros: good service, yummy food
- Cons: i walked, but others will need to search for parking
Worst Italian Food
by yanushka at Citysearch
I wanted to try Ann'a because of the quaint exterior decor. However, the interior is quite depressing due to the poor lighting and the elderly patrons. All of that I could overlook, but the food was absolutely disgusting. The pasta was over boiled, almost mushy, and the sauces were awful. I always finish off my plate, but I pushed this meal away after a few bites. This is unquestionably the worst Italian food (actually any food) I've ever had.
Authentic Italian

I can't comprehend the complaints I am hearing about Anna's. I love this restaurant. I am part Italian and I get such enjoyment from going to Anna's. Not only does the ambiance and atmosphere resemble an Italian restaurant I used to go to a lot in Italy, but the food and the customer service is great as well. Moreover, I get to speak Italian with the very nice manager who tends to throw in a complimentary appetizer for me having been a customer for so long. Obviously, Anna's is a restaurant I highly recommend. I currently live in the OC, so I try to create occasions/excuses to drive down to LA in order to eat at Anna's. Great food, great service, great romantic yet family friendly atmosphere.
Buon appetito!
- Pros: Atmosphere, Service, Food
- Cons: Parking can be a problem sometimes
Bad food, bad service
by larunner at Citysearch
I was disappointed by both the food and the service. The marinara sauce was almost inedible - everything else was very bland. Our waitress was rude and hard to find - not to mention unsanitary. She actually had an open piece of candy in her hand when she brought food to our table! By then end of the evening, we couldn't find her so we eventually flagged down a manager and waited 20 minutes for the bill! Not recommended!
Red Booths, Bad Service
by radiancelee at Citysearch
When first looking at the $20 a dish menu, red booths and new york italian atmosphere, i though we'd be in for a treat. i felt, oh this must be where the godfather dines, this must taste authentic. not so much. our waiter was, in lieu of saying rude, disinterested. he just didnt really smile, or care, to the point where we were afraid of asking for olive oil, extra parmesan, and even the bill, so i can best describe him as scary. The veal (which had an inspirational footnote on the menu that prompted me to order it) in sherry sauce, had a bit of pungent taste, that was not to my liking. the sole meuniere didnt come out as i expected, it was drenched in gravy which made the batter soggy and ended up tasting more like sweet and sour chinese chicken. the highlight was the side of pasta that came with the dishes, but since i was too scared to ask for more cheese, i couldnt really enjoy it. save your money and go elsewhere.
- Pros: Parmesan Cheese, Red Booths, Dimmed Lighting
- Cons: Service scary, Food strange, Too expensive for what it is
Hearty Sicilian family food served in an Old-World Italian setting.

In Short
With deep, shiny vinyl booths, red gingham tablecloths and Old Italy posters mounted on blood-red walls, Anna's decor is a suitable match for its traditional Italian-American offerings. The menu reads like a magazine, with interesting sidebars and helpful footnotes. Pasta dishes can be prepared with a choice of noodles; homemade sauces include Alfredo, meat, marinara and clam. Veal, chicken, seafood and pizza are also available.
Super-fattening comfort Italian with okay service.
by vincent3000 at Citysearch
My wife and I went to Anna's a number of times as guilty indulgences. The pasta dishes are made with cream, egg yolk, parmesan, and ever-increasing amounts of cheese. For all of this, it tastes quite delicious (as it should), if a little bland.
However, the last time we went I ordered a dish that featured a tableside preparation. Unfortunately, our waiter did not pay any attention to it and we watched for twenty minutes as the wine and butter burned in front of our eyes into a singed mess. When we asked what had gone wrong he would not own up to it. No apology, and worse, there was not even the token free dessert or anything. Everyone else received their food before us and it totally screwed up the meal. We won't go back.
- Pros: Good comfort food.
- Cons: Massive calories; poor service.
