The ONLY Fabric Store in Los Angeles
by bhsitters at Citysearch
There is no better place to get your fabric in all of Los Angeles.
Their selection is unbeatable and between the costume store, the two "for-the-home" stores and the wholesale store, you will never need to leave Pico Blvd
The prices are fair, and some of the fabrics are out of this world! At the biggest store in the center, they have fabric from Italy made from thinly shaved CORK! Can you believe it? Beautiful, practical and bizarre, they've got it all!
Knowledgeable staff, nice location
I can't say enough good things about this store! I've got F & S all over my house.
- Pros: Great Selection, Fair price
- Cons: No parking at the wholesale store... but it's close enough to walk from any of the other locations!

We saw this store on Project Walkway and drove the 65 miles to get there today (65 miles back too)!! Well, it was worth the drive! What a great store -- lots of high quality notions -- you could actually find the zipper length AND right color -- beautiful, high quality fabric. We found just what we were looking for: a very nice printed cotton lawn which I haven't seen in any of the major fabric chain stores. Lots and lots of great ribbon, double-sided satin, one-sided satin, grosgrain, multi-colored ribbon, etc. Buttons galore!! All kinds, shapes, sizes, colors and easy to access. We'll be driving there again; I guarantee it.
- Pros: Good quality all around
A really nice store over in the Westside

No, you won't get the unbelievable bargains of the Fashion District here, but the prices are (generally) reasonable for the consistently VERY high quality of fabric. They have a good stock of basics and get some really interesting specialty fabrics in from time to time (there's a printed leather I'm still kicking myself for not snapping up a couple of years ago). They also have a killer selection of trims and buttons. The staff has always been super-friendly, and they all cut generous yards, so you never have to worry about shrinkage. Highly recommended!
- Pros: nice staff, good selection
- Cons: parking
