For basic mexican, fun atmosphere and value, this can't be beat. But the tortillas everyone raves about are not great. More like indian style paratha than tortillas. To thick, too greasy and too flour/yeasty.
Pros: Portions, value, fun
Cons: Average food

Im constantly recommending this resturaunt to all my friends, i have never heard anything negative about this resturaunt!!! If you go on a fri. or sat. night its possible there is a wait, but belive me the food is worth it! try the combination plate #6 thats my favorite dish!!!!! the margaritas are the bomb!!! you will never find your soda completely empty the service is incredible!

It was just last friday night, we met a friend for dinner. Wait was maybe 10 minutes, good sign. We had a nice meal, and two pitchers of margaritas. No sooner had we paid the bill and I had just taken my last sip of margarita when the host appeared. He asked if we could leave as there was a line outside. I have NEVER been asked to leave a restaurant and it's not like we were there for 3 hours not eating or drinking. We were embarrassed and walked out. The embarrassment ofcourse turned to anger. We will never go back.

Used to eat at all three Paco's Tacos, went to the one on Centinela this past Sat. - My combo plate was as I remembered, my husbands carne asada was not cooked medium and was poor quality meat with no flavor at all. Margarita's were good after they corrected them (no salt means no salt). What bugged us the most was the wait time and the seating of people arriving after us (seemed like they were regulars) Host was very friendly and chatted, he seated 4 parties ahead of us and other people waiting. When you sit for 30 plus minutes - you notice and that's just rude. Don't mind waiting if a restaurant is fair. We won't go back.
Pros: Overall Good ingredients
Cons: Parking limited, Uneven Quality of Meals, Wait time for seating

The salsa was perfect, the chips were perfect, the drinks were perfect, and the food was perfect. The tortillas are made fresh and make the meal. They have lots of unique dishes that are particular to mexican traditions giving it a little more to offer than the usual mexican restaurant. We didn't wait long for our table and the service was amazing. They even spoke spanish back to me even though I am not fluent which is always a confidence booster! The spices were so yummy in the dishes we had and I can't wait to go back.

Go here about every week. It's a local's favorite place - gets a mixed crowd - but always a good sign when loved by LA's Mexican immigrant community and decendents! Great service from the moment you are seated. Heck, even before - they bring chips and salsa to the waiting area when the wait gets long. Busy - well - always. Expect a wait at dinner, but they move quickly and efficiently. Lunch on weekends - get there before 12:30 and you're fine. If not, it might be a few minutes. BUT WELL WORTH IT. If you can't wait, get takeout at Pepe's down the street at Culver & Centinella. Chips are good (Gilbert's and El Tepeyec's are better). Salsa is AWESOME. I drink the stuff. Can be hot. Ask for the carrots when you sit down (free). Chips and Salsa will also be refilled over and over again. Everything here is great - burritos are perhaps the specialty. The FLOUR TORTILLAS are the best in LOS ANGELES! Get a side order to munch on. They make them fresh right there for you to watch. Great decor - changes with the seasons. A must for LA visitors and residents.
Pros: EVERYTHING - flour tortillas, salsa, beans, burritos, service, atmosphere, price
Cons: Not many - street parking - but plenty of it. Can be a wait - but I can understand why!

The tortillas were absolutely light, fresh, and delicious. I am going back today just for the tortillas. The burritos were also good. The tacos were marginal.

Really and truly, the best flour tortilla's north of the border and west of Arizona. They are so hot and tender with just enough salt and love put into them. I suggest the fajita's. No fancy show off fajita's here, just great flavor. The margarita's taste like margarita's. Not lemon juice with a squirt of tequila. Full on flavor at this place. Ask for the marinated carrots when, they bring the chips to your table. It is one of the best Mexican restaurants I have found in LA. The Albondigas is great, too. It is seasoned, brothy, and served with the flour tortilla's. Try it and you'll see, it is all good.
Pros: Tortilla's!
Cons: Heartburn

So, after using Citysearch to help me find many quality restaurants, I decided to go ahead and join the cause. Paco's Tacos was good enough to make me want to write my first review. So here goes. First off, I read some earlier reviews about parking issues. I have to say, we had no problems with this. The restaurant is directly in front of a residential area, so I assume that there can be parking issues, but we got there pretty early in the evening (around 6ish), with 3 different cars, and we all found parking spots right next to the restaurant. The service was good and fast. The waiters were very attentive with refills but not overbearing. The decor was a little tacky, but many Mexican restaurants are the same, and it is kind of cool to see them making fresh tortillas in front of you (which are yummy by the way!). The food overall was great too. My boyfriend, who is not such a huge fan of what he calls "Californian" Mexican food, was impressed. He said his chimichangas were great. I had a chicken taco and the meat was white and fresh. The only possible down side is that the prices are just a tad high in my opinion. Most of the entrees are in the $12-$14 range. For Mexican food, this can seem a little overpriced, but being that the food is so good, I believe it's worth it. I would definitely recommend Paco's Tacos.
Pros: Service, Food
Cons: Possible parking issues

Didn't live up to reputation. Not what I expected after reading all the other reviews for this location.
