Editorial Review for Hadaka Sushi – by Michael Martin
In Short
A cobblestone bungalow, known briefly as Wacky Waffles, leads to the interior space, with an exposed beam ceiling, ornate chandelier and oversized religious statuaries. A leggy staff of actress-slash-waitresses works a bamboo-lined dining room of red-vinyl booths and white-clothed tabletops. The private dining room, reserved for larger groups, offers body sushi presented on real-life models. The menu is not for the timid, and features provocatively named dishes like the "nice rack" (a grilled rack of lamb) and the "big unit" (marinated rib-eye steak).

What to DrinkThe bar serves a lengthy list of hot and cold sakes that can be paired with select menu items. There's also beer and wine.
The ExtrasThe private "adults-only" room can be reserved for special events like bachelor parties, omakase dinners and more. Deluxe packages include a sushi sampler platter served on the banana-leaf covered body of a model.

I hosted a bachelor party for my brother last night and brought 17 guys here for nyotaimori, or "body sushi." Even though the private room only accomodates 14 or less, they were nice enough to section off a part of the restaurant so we could have the party. Coordinating the reservation was easy. I had no idea how this would turn out other than none in our party had ever had "body sushi." Without a doubt, these guys were FANTASTIC. Everything was great. The staff was attentive, the bar was great and suprisingly, the sushi was really, really good even though they were serving such a large party. As good as any individual meal you could order. Our nyotaimori model, Janica, was awesome and our server was great too. The chef was constantly checking on us and making sure we were taken care of. Every guy had a great time in no small part to how great the restaurant, food and staff were. I would highly recommend this place and recommend trying "body sushi" if you haven't.
Pros: Body sushi, food, wait staff and bar. Nice patio bar too.
Cons: None

I went with friends on a Saturday evening. We made reservations, but that wasn't necessary because the place was dead. The food tasted great, but I had to say, the menu with all of its sexual names for the sake of sticking with the theme was hard to read and distracting. The decor was funny for the first five minutes, but after a while, I felt clausterphobic with the dim lighting and the pin up girls on the walls. Our waiter was good, and he seemed knowledgeable but he wasn't amazing, given the amount of tables he had. The drink tasted good, but it gave me and my friends stomachaches afterwards. Overall, it was a pleasant experience but not one worthy of the $$$ price.
Pros: Sushi is delicious
Cons: The theme is more fun in theory than in practice
